Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is a member of the B-complex group of vitamins. It is involved in DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, neurological function, and the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. It's particularly important for the health of the nervous system. It is not produced by the human body and must be obtained from dietary sources or supplements.

B12 can naturally be found in foods such as: meat (beef, pork, lamb, poultry), fish, eggs, dairy, fortified plant-based foods.

Potential benefits of supplementing with vitamin B12:

1. Energy production: B12 plays a role in the conversion of food into energy. Adequate B12 levels can help prevent fatigue and support overall energy levels.

2. Neurological health: B12 is critical for maintaining healthy nerve cells.

3. DNA synthesis: B12 is also required for the synthesis of DNA, the genetic material in all cells which is essential for cell division and growth.
